Handling Storm Water with Beautiful Flowers

June 2nd, 2017

We posted a blog this past September to highlight our expertise in handling drainage and storm water problems.  A large commercial account was experiencing difficulties with their new bio retention basin.  SFP analyzed the problem and suggested a solution to handle the storm water and to improve the appearance (the basin is right in front of their corporate headquarters).  Our proposal was accepted and we completed our work.

So, here we are 9 months later, and the early blooming native plants that were part of our solution are in glorious bloom.  The native Coreopsis is displaying its brilliant yellow blooms and the other natives are growing like crazy.  This swale and basin will be beautiful all year, as various native wildflowers bloom at their respective times.  Our stewardship crews are keeping invasive and weedy plants out so the natives can mature to their full potential.  And, by the way, the basin is now working the way it was supposed to.  A pat on the back to our managers and crews for their intelligent approach to the problem and for their meticulous installation work.
